Today is Thanksgiving, but nothing special has happened. It's been several months since my last birthday, and with just two months left in the year, the New Year will be here soon. Time flies so quickly, almost in a blur.
fter my birthday, I went to the Danjing Viewing Platform on Longquan Mountain after returning from the Qinling Mountains. It was quite nice, offering a panoramic view of the entire Sancha Lake.
One random evening, I went to McDonald’s with a riding buddy I knew from my motorbike days. The night turned out to be full of surprises. For some reason, he showed up in women’s clothing. At first, I thought it was just a fashion choice and didn’t give it much thought. But later, I found out he was calling another guy “husband” and even posted about it on his social media. My goodness, I can hardly believe something like this happened to me.
After leaving behind that absurd experience, I revisited the temple near my home. The last time I went, I didn’t go inside and assumed it was a small temple. This time, I discovered an entirely different world within. I can only blame my carelessness for missing out before.
After that, I attended a friend’s birthday party. Not knowing what gift to get, I decided to buy her some makeup. We had a meal together and then went to a nightclub to have fun. Honestly, nightclubs really aren’t my thing—I went purely for the experience.
A few days later, as the maple leaves turned red, I decided on a whim to visit Jiuzhaigou. It was okay, but nothing extraordinary. Interestingly, I bumped into a former colleague there, and we had dinner together. He was with his girlfriend—a sweet and loving couple—while I, as the single one, unintentionally became the third wheel, lighting their way like a giant spotlight.
Since Jiuzhaigou didn’t quite meet my expectations and I still had time, I continued on to the Ruoergai Grassland. The autumn scenery there was truly captivating, and I managed to take some beautiful photos. It turned out to be a rewarding trip overall.
After returning from Jiuzhaigou, I brought back a few maple leaves and turned them into a framed specimen. I also wrote a poem to go with it and sent it to a friend in Beijing. Since she had also visited Jiuzhaigou before, I thought it was a meaningful gesture.
To my surprise, she sent me some homemade authentic Beijing-style zhajiang (fried soybean paste), so I could enjoy a proper bowl of zhajiangmian. Honestly, it was incredibly delicious—I ended up eating zhajiangmian for several days in a row. By sheer coincidence, I even found noodles specifically made for zhajiangmian at the supermarket. It was a perfect match, like it was meant to be!
These past few months, one thing has been bothering me a lot. My dad had borrowed 10,000 yuan from a friend, and I already transferred the money to him to repay the debt. However, he didn’t return the money to his friend. Now, the money is stuck in a securities account and can’t be withdrawn. The process to inherit this money has turned out to be incredibly complicated!
Sigh... I’ll have to deal with it on a weekday, and I even need to go back to my hometown for notarization. It’s truly frustrating.
Obviously, I don’t let these bothersome things get to me. In this limited life, every day deserves to be embraced with happiness. Sometimes, I still hang out with friends to eat and drink together. They often visit my home, and we cook delicious meals together. Every time they come, they bring a lot of things with them. Although I no longer have family around, life still feels quite fulfilling.
A couple of days ago, on a whim, I drove to Guizhou and visited two villages. Unfortunately, the weather was terrible, and those ancient villages honestly weren’t very enjoyable for me. I’ve decided I won’t visit villages like that again.
The only memorable part was that I drove over 2,000 kilometers in just two days! Haha, I guess it’s a testament to my youth. I can’t help but wonder—five years from now, will I still have the energy and spirit for road trips like this?
On the way back to Chengdu from Guizhou, I stopped by Yibin since it was along the way and had some authentic Yibin ranmian (burning noodles). It was pretty good!
After rushing back home, I quickly mailed out the specialties I had bought since I didn’t have time to prepare anything elaborate on weekdays. Meanwhile, I received some snacks from a friend in Guangdong—olives. The taste was average, not as good as the ones I’ve had before, but he sent me so many different kinds. I was really touched. Next time I go traveling, I’ll definitely bring him some local specialties in return.
Actually, this month I received lots of other gifts too, like lamb and beef meatballs, and some specially selected delicious snacks. This winter feels especially warm with all of you around—LOL~~~
Of course, I also gave lots of gifts to others. After all, I’m not a stingy person. Happiness is mutual—you’re kind to me, and I’ll be kind to you.
This weekend looks like the weather will be great—sunny and bright! It’s time for another spontaneous trip, no plans, no destination, just go wherever I feel like. Lala~
Alright, time to sleep. Tomorrow’s Friday, and the weekend is definitely something to look forward to! Good night !
